Enhanced Scott Addict bicycle model promises double comfort and versatility in its design

In early 2025, Scott Sports unveiled the latest addition to their road bike family - the new Scott Addict. The high-end "Addict RC Ultimate HMX SL" model was showcased in February, promising a blend of comfort and performance.

The new Addict road bike is designed to tackle various terrains, doubling down on the outgoing model's endurance credentials. One of its standout features is the integrated repair kit, conveniently located in the down tube, ensuring riders are prepared for any unexpected repairs.

Scott has reshaped various frame tubes to increase comfort, with the seat and top tubes being slimmer to promote vertical compliance. The seatstays have been dropped more visibly, and the chainstays shortened, all contributing to a smoother ride.

Despite the focus on comfort, the headtube and bottom bracket stiffness remain the same as the Addict RC, ensuring a responsive ride when needed. The new Addict road bike also boasts a medium-sized frame triangle bag, providing ample storage for essentials.

The Scott Addict road bike range consists of six models, offering a mix of Shimano and SRAM componentry. The base Addict 50 model starts at an accessible €2,599 / $2,799, while the top-end Premium model is priced at €7,499 / $7,699.

Tyre clearance has grown up to 38mm, allowing for a wider range of tyre sizes. Two seatposts can be used with the Scott Addict road bike: the Addict and the RC, and the Scott 'comfort' seatpost. A T25 Torx key is fitted inside the handlebar drop, making adjustments on the go easier.

The new Addict road bike is available in two carbon layup versions: HMF and HMX. The latest version focuses on comfort and versatility, rather than being an all-out aero race bike.

Interestingly, the geometry of the new Addict road bike is 5mm higher and 5mm shorter than the previous model, and the chainstays have been shortened by 2mm for a more agile ride. This design change, coupled with the increased comfort features, makes the new Addict a compelling choice for riders seeking a balance between performance and comfort.

It's worth noting that the Scott Addict has a reputation for being a lightweight road racing platform. In fact, it has been used to win some of the world's biggest races. With the new focus on comfort and versatility, the Scott Addict road bike is poised to appeal to a wider range of riders, from weekend warriors to professional racers.
