Enhancements Made to Mobile Network in Lingen (EMS) by Telekom
In a continuous effort to enhance mobile connectivity, Deutsche Telekom has announced the upgrading of another mobile network site in Lingen (Ems) to 5G. This move is part of a larger plan to strengthen the city of Berlin with the expansion of LTE and 5G mobile networks over the next three years.
The expansion in Lingen (Ems) includes the improvement of indoor reception and the addition of 20 sites for LTE or 5G. As a result, the mobile internet supply to households in the district has reached 99 percent, with mobile internet coverage now at 96 percent.
Deutsche Telekom's spokesperson, Stefanie Halle, stated that bandwidth demand is increasing by around 30 percent per year. To meet this growing demand, the company has already expanded over 173 mobile network sites in the Emsland region.
In a bid to further expand its network, Telekom plans to add an additional 16 sites in the next three years. These new sites, like the existing ones, will support the emergency call technology Advanced Mobile Location (AML) and the warning system Cell Broadcast.
Moreover, the mobile network sites in Lingen (Ems) provide coverage along the Emden-Münster railway line. This ensures that passengers and commuters have reliable mobile connectivity throughout their journey.
Landlords who lease areas for new sites receive a long-term, location-appropriate rent. For those interested in offering a site for a roof or mast location, Deutsche Funkturm, the company responsible for building the mobile network sites for Telekom, offers an online platform at www.dfmg.de/standortangebot.
Telekom's commitment to mobile network expansion has not gone unnoticed. Specialist magazines such as Chip, connect, ComputerBild, and Imtest have confirmed that Telekom operates the best mobile network in Germany.
With these expansions, Deutsche Telekom is not only improving mobile connectivity in Lingen (Ems) and Berlin but also contributing to Germany's digital infrastructure, making it easier for people to stay connected in their daily lives.
