Enhancing Digital Presence of Justice Department Offices Online
In a recent statement to the "Nordkurier", Brandenburg's Minister of Justice, Benjamin Grimm (SPD), has expressed his ambition to make central tasks of citizens' offices more accessible online. This move aims to bring convenience to citizens by allowing them to perform a range of administrative services from the comfort of their homes.
The proposed changes include submitting proof digitally for a building permit, applying for a driver's license, changing one's address, and even registering a marriage. These services, known as "focus services", are already in use in some places, according to Minister Grimm. He further indicated that the goal is to offer all 16 such services online during this legislative period.
Grimm emphasised the importance of ensuring these programs are implemented in all municipalities and throughout the state. He stated that the programs are designed to be used elsewhere as well, and the task now is to ensure their widespread adoption.
The minister's vision is to allow these tasks to be processed "as comprehensively as possible" online. This would not only save citizens time and effort but also contribute to maintaining social distancing measures in the current pandemic situation.
However, no specific information has been found about which municipalities in Brandenburg have already posted the 16 "priority services" online or which municipalities are planned to implement these services during the current legislative period of the Ministry of the Interior and Sports.
