"Environment Station Receives "Investigative Specialist""

In the heart of Bavaria, the city and district of Landshut are embarking on an exciting educational journey. The Landshut Environmental Station, in close cooperation with the public works department and the waste management of the district and city, is training "Wertstoffdetektive" (Resource Detectives) at primary schools.

This project, known as "Wertstoffdetektive," is open to all second and third graders residing in Landshut. It does not require any financial investment from the participants, making it accessible to all.

The aim of this project is twofold. First, it imparts essential knowledge about recycling and environmental protection. Second, it strengthens the self-efficacy of children and their parents, emphasising that every individual can make a valuable contribution to the common future.

The educational experience is hands-on and engaging. As part of the project, school classes visit a recycling center in their vicinity. Here, children gain exciting insights behind the scenes and learn directly from professionals on site about the importance of recycling.

The practical experience turns the children into real resource detectives, solidifying their knowledge and fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility towards the environment.

Teachers are encouraged to register their classes for the project. Registration can be done on the dedicated website, www.umweltstation-our website/fuer-die-jugend/wertstoffdetektive/.

The Landshut Environmental Station and the involved parties ensure that the young participants are practically and vividly inspired for environmental protection. The project reinforces the idea that everyone involved can contribute to a better future, demonstrating that every individual action counts.

Children from grades 2 and 3 are participating in the project and stepping into the roles of young environmental and recycling experts. By the end of the project, they will not only have a deeper understanding of recycling and environmental protection but also a strong sense of self-efficacy, ready to make a positive impact on their world.
