Escorted Convoy Travels for 12 Hours During a March

In a picturesque town in Bavaria, the Tirschenreuth branch of the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) conducted an extraordinary exercise on the streets for twelve hours on Saturday. The convoy, led by Benjamin Sertl, head of the information and communication department, started at the festival grounds in Tirschenreuth at 8:30 AM and traveled through various towns and highways.

The convoy, initially consisting of twelve vehicles, was reduced to eleven due to a last-minute catering truck breakdown. Despite this setback, the convoy continued its journey, with drivers rotated at each stop to allow as many participants as possible to gain convoy driving experience.

Meanwhile, in a separate event, Frank Muckenschnabel and Sabine Meidl exchanged vows in the Nabburg Marienkirche registry office, with the mayor of Nabburg, Frank Zeitler, officiating the ceremony. The newlyweds celebrated their union afterwards in Schwandorf.

Simultaneously, in a church in Beidl, Plößberg's Carnival President Lisa Gebert and Philipp Hofmann from Schirmitz got married. Their civil ceremony is scheduled for next Saturday.

The convoy traveled through Erbendorf, Pullenreuth, Waldershof, A93 highway, Wernberg-Köblitz, A6, Leuchtenberg, B22, and Altenstadt/WN. A practical vehicle check was demonstrated at the Waldnaabtal rest area. Noteworthily, there were no vehicle breakdowns throughout the entire exercise.

As the convoy reached Tirschenreuth, it concluded at 5 PM at the festival grounds with a debriefing. Participants expressed positive feedback and wished for such exercises to be held regularly, suggesting the inclusion of Mountain Rescue and Water Rescue units.

Elsewhere in North Rhine-Westphalia, tragedy struck as an electric car crashed into a tree, resulting in the death of three passengers, including two children.

In Amberg, a group of children were spotted walking to a fast-food restaurant at around 5 AM, prompting the police to intervene and notify child protective services. A 31-year-old filmed a drunken colleague at a company party in Amberg and showed the video to other colleagues, resulting in a complaint being filed.

After twelve years, Vera Jankowski and Michael Schmeller tied the knot in the Tirschenreuth registry office. They celebrated a casual wedding with friends from all over Germany in the Czech Republic.
