Establishment of the BYD Dealer Association announced
In a significant move for the electric vehicle (EV) industry in Germany, the BYD Partner Association (BYDPA) was officially launched on September 4, 2025, in Munich. The association, based in Bonn, aims to consolidate the interests of German BYD dealers and expand cooperation with the manufacturer.
The founding members of the BYDPA include established names such as Senger Group, Sternauto, Reisacher Group, Riess Group, Glinicke Automobil Holding, Hedin Automotive, and Weller Holding. The Fischer Automotive Group and Autohaus Kummich have also joined the ranks, further strengthening the association.
Andreas Knipp from JST Senger GmbH was elected as the first chairman of the board, with Peter Heinrich from Sternauto as his deputy. Knipp expressed his enthusiasm for the association, stating that the BYD Partner Association is committed to standardising and professionalising the business.
The BYDPA sees itself as an active representative of a strong, partnership-based dealer network. The association aims to implement the ambitious growth plans of the brand in a stable, profitable, and sustainable framework, working closely with the manufacturer.
Several dealerships have already started offering BYD models. The Rahenbrock car dealership in Melle and the Munich-based Häusler car dealership will offer BYD electric models from September 2025. Additionally, Autohaus Müller and Schmidt GmbH joined the BYD dealership network in Germany in September 2025. Weller Holding, with four locations, has also become a trade partner of BYD.
Knipp looks forward to welcoming further members to the BYD network and the BYD Partner Association, laying a crucial foundation for the further development of the BYD brand in Germany. The establishment of the BYDPA is a step towards a more sustainable and electric future for the German automotive industry.
