In the Euskirchen district of Germany, a series of incidents have been reported involving unknown suspects posing as bank employees over the phone and attempting to gain access to victims' homes. On Tuesday, August 27th, several incidents occurred. In Case 1 at Mechernich-Hostel, Gölerzstraße, a woman received a call demanding a payment of 4,000 euros and her PIN. A suspect then appeared at her door, but she became suspicious and threatened to call her bank, causing the suspect to leave.

In Case 2 at Euskirchen, Erfurter Straße, an 86-year-old man received a call from someone claiming to be a Sparkasse employee. A man then appeared at his door, trying to obtain his account details, but he recognized the scam and alerted the police. No damage was done in this case.

In Case 3 at Euskirchen, Olpener Straße, a 63-year-old woman was asked to reveal her PIN over the phone, but she refused, and no damage was done.

In Case 4 at Euskirchen, Moselstraße, a 90-year-old man was first contacted by phone by someone claiming to be a Sparkasse employee. A suspect then appeared at his door, and after being let in, the suspect managed to steal a low four-digit amount of cash. Upon leaving, he pushed the elderly man aside.

The suspects are described as males, ranging from 165 cm to 180 cm in height. They have a southern or European appearance and were observed wearing either sportswear (T-shirt, shorts) or shirts and jeans. The name of the suspect involved in the fraud attempt on August 27 in Mechernich-Hostel, Gölerzstraße, is not publicly disclosed.

The police urge family members of the elderly to inform them about this scam and raise awareness. The Euskirchen police strongly warn against the ongoing phone scam involving fake bank employees.
