The discussions focused on a variety of aspects, with the well-being of the city of Bamberg being a primary concern for Minister Herrmann. The planned transfer of ownership of the reception center to the city was a topic of discussion, as was the capacity limits desired by the city of Bamberg. Improvements in the social conditions within the facility were also a key focus.

Mayor Starke emphasized the importance of considering the long-term urban development of the 22-hectare area and the sustainability of the result for both the city and the Free State. He also stressed the need for a balanced overall package, ensuring that all parties involved, including the citizens of Bamberg, are satisfied with the negotiated outcome.
