European Union Bodies - Parliament and Council - Agree on Legislative Decision
In a recent analysis by the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR), it has been revealed that over 5,500 cities and communities in Germany are actively working on their energy plans.
As per the report, municipalities with more than 100,000 inhabitants are required to have their energy plans ready. This requirement, however, does not seem to have a specific year or timeframe attached to it.
Among the largest cities in Baden-Württemberg, ten have already created their energy plans as part of state and municipal sustainability efforts. Stuttgart leads the pack with around 612,663 inhabitants, followed by Mannheim with 318,035 inhabitants, and others in descending order. All these cities have energy plans in place.

It's important to note that no new financial or monetary benefits are mentioned in relation to these energy plans. Also, the subscription cost is 96 Euros per year, inclusive of VAT.
As of early May, another 488 cities and communities have already completed their energy plans. However, no new municipalities or cities are mentioned to have started or completed their energy plans in the recent analysis.
This news underscores the commitment of German municipalities towards sustainable energy practices, although Baden-Württemberg is not particularly highlighted as advanced in energy planning in this specific report.
The article does not provide any new details about webinars or any new requirements or deadlines for energy plans for municipalities. Nonetheless, it serves as a testament to the ongoing efforts being made towards a greener future in Germany.
