Evening journeys on Route 63 and 60 extend longer, according to NVV's announced schedule adjustments.
In the heart of North Hesse, the state of Hesse is investing a significant sum of 925,000 euros in the renovation of a state road, with additional funds of up to 4.25 million euros earmarked for the repair of the city's tram tracks.
This extensive construction project will necessitate some changes to traffic flow. The A49 will serve as a detour, with traffic rerouted via the city-Mitte and city-Nord exits. The stops VW-Haupttor, Baunsberg, and VW-Werk will be temporarily unavailable during this period.
The Ulmenstraße, between the traffic junction and Porschestraße, will also be closed until approximately mid-September. This closure, along with construction work by Hessen Mobil and Regionalbahn Kassel (RBK), has fully closed the traffic junction between the city and Oberzwehren since the beginning of the week and will remain closed until the end of the summer holidays.
The repair of the tram tracks, amounting to around 5.0 million euros, will be borne by the RBK. As a result, line 4 will be temporarily replaced by a tram replacement service. Line 63 buses, which will run between Altenbauna Rathaus and Rengershausen Knallhütte via the A49 due to the reroute, will also be affected.
To compensate for the disruption of line 63, the timetable for line 60 will be extended with additional bus and AST trips. A third lane will be marked on both carriageways between the city-Nord and city-Mitte exits to help manage increased traffic expected in the area of the city exits on the A49.
For those who rely on public transportation, the first trip from Baunsberg towards the city center on weekdays will be brought forward by five minutes. However, line 63 will not be able to serve the Baunsberg residential area in the evenings and on weekends.
The Regionalbahn Kassel, which operates regional train services in the Kassel area, will continue to serve as a reliable alternative during this period. The city of our city is represented by the magistrate at Marketplace 14, 34225 our city, with a telephone number of 05 61 / 49 92 -0.
