Event of Illumination: Night of the Light

The city of Lünen is set to host the 8th Night of Light Art, an exciting event showcasing a variety of light artworks, temporary installations, and guided tours, on an unspecified date in October.

One of the highlights of the event is the presentation of Maja Funke's temporary light art installation, "Leuchten", which will take place at the Museum Stadt Lünen at 8 PM on 24th October. Visitors can also look forward to a talk with Maja Funke about her work during the Light Art Journey.

Admission to the presentation of "Leuchten" is free, but registration is required under kltrbrlnnd. Tickets for the Light Art Journey can be purchased in advance for 20 € at the Lünen Cultural Office, Kurt-Schumacher-Straße 41 (Hansesaal), 44532 Lünen. The meeting point for the Light Art Journey is the Heinz-Hilpert-Theater.

The Light Art Journey starts in Lünen and travels to Bergkamen and Unna. Along the way, visitors will have the opportunity to view Till Schwennbeck's temporary light installation in Bergkamen and take a guided tour of the "Light-Land-Scapes" exhibition in Unna.

Before the main event, there will be a conversation with light artist Martin Pfeifle at the Museum Stadt Lünen on 22nd October. Thomas Riedelsheimer will screen his award-winning film, "Tracing Light - the Magic of Light", which explores natural phenomena, featuring outstanding scientists and artists who work with light, on the same day.

The 3-day event begins on 24th October at 6:30 PM, with the Night of Light Art in Lünen. Three events are scheduled in Lünen for the Night of Light Art. The Light Art Journey on 24th October will take visitors to Bergkamen and Unna.

Martin Pfeifle's light art piece "radial" has been serving as a "city gate" at Lange Straße in Lünen since 2016. Dominik Olbrisch will accompany the Light Art Journey.
