In a heartbreaking turn of events, Na'Onche Osborne, the 23-year-old son of ex-North Las Vegas state senator and mayoral candidate Patricia Ann Spearman, was gunned down last week at the Aliante Casino and Hotel in North Las Vegas. The Clark County Coroner's Office confirmed Osborne's identity on Saturday, following an investigation that commenced after the fatal shooting at the casino's cashier cage area.

According to the autopsy report, Osborne succumbed to "multiple gunshot wounds." Nevada law enforcement quickly identified the suspect as Aerion Warmsley, a 19-year-old with a penchant for chaos across the Las Vegas Valley.

Devastating News for the Spearman Family

Pat Spearman was a Democratic state senator for Nevada's Senate District 1 from 2012 to 2024. In response to Na'Onche Osborne's untimely demise, Spearman's family attorney issued a statement expressing their profound grief, stating, "The loss of Na'Onche Osborne is an unimaginable sorrow for Senator Spearman and her family. They are heartbroken." The family kindly requested privacy to grieve in peace.

Osborne joined the Spearman family as an adopted teenager.

A Trail of Destruction

The North Las Vegas Police Department received reports of a shooting at Aliante at around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday. Warmsley faces one count each of open murder and robbery, both with a deadly weapon. During his spree on Thursday, Warmsley not only killed Osborne but also embarked on a high-speed chase across the valley, resulting in carjackings, multiple accidents, and injuries to two individuals[2].

The vehicle Warmsley was driving slammed into a bus stop near Tropicana Avenue and Boulder Highway, hospitalizing one person in critical condition.

A Chequered Past

It appears that Osborne's troubles with the law weren't confined to this incident. In 2022, police arrested Osborne for shooting his cousin at the ex-Senator's home after an argument over Osborne exhaling marijuana smoke into the face of a five-year-old boy[3].

Osborne pleaded guilty to the related felony charges and allegedly made "multiple threats to shoot members of the Spearman family" while also firing a gun through a wall into an occupied room[3]. The police report attributed Osborne's behavior to post-traumatic stress disorder stemming from his childhood traumas[3].
