Examining the Minister of Interior by the DGK Weissfräcke in Dusseldorf
The annual Fool's Maturity Exam at the DGK Weissfrack Society in Düsseldorf was a night to remember, with a mix of tradition and entertainment that kept guests enthralled until after midnight.
Prince Andreas I and his partner Venetia Evelyn, along with a delegation from the City Council, graced the event with their presence. The evening began with the Prince's couple entering the hall, accompanied by the Prince's guard of the city of Düsseldorf.
The session with the Weissfracken was not a formal, sitting event. Instead, it was a celebration filled with opportunities for dancing, laughter, and camaraderie. The High Energy Show Dance lived up to its name, setting the tone for an evening of lively entertainment.
Minister of the Interior Herbert Reul was a participant in the Fool's Maturity Exam. He not only took part in the ceremonies but also delivered a speech that was listened to attentively by the attendees. Reul, known for his humour, made light-hearted jokes about the relationship between Düsseldorf and Cologne during his performance.
Reul was not the only one to take the stage. Michael Hermes and his band provided a musical programme that allowed guests to dance, sing along, and enjoy the performances of other groups. Jürgen Hilger, a renowned figure, tailored a part of his speech to Mayor Josef Hinkel, who later showed his appreciation by kissing Hilger during the performance.
The dance corps Colonia Rut Wiess added an extra dash of excitement to the evening with their aerial stunts performed by their ladies. The session song of the Tollitäten saw guests in the hall displaying text-savvy behaviour, adding to the overall atmosphere of the event.
The evening's highlight was undoubtedly Reul's performance. He played the Cologne song "Wenn das Trömmelche geht ..." on a drum while wearing a green and red uniform, much to the delight of the audience.
