Excitement in Arnsberg: Two days of jubilation, camaraderie, and Lidl Germany Tour celebrations
The city of Arnsberg has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the supporting companies and over 350 volunteers, as it successfully hosted the second and third stages of Germany's most significant cycling race, the Lidl Germany Tour.
Thousands of visitors filled the Neheim city center during the race, lining the route with enthusiasm. The event, according to Christopher Hilverling, the city's first deputy mayor responsible for security and order, was carried out without any major incidents.
The city actively supported the Lidl Germany Tour, organising and preparing numerous volunteers through training sessions at the Campus of Stadtwerke Arnsberg. This ensured smooth event operations, with the help of an engaged team led by Tatjana Schefers, city marketing manager.
Temporary street closures and no-parking zones were necessary to ensure a safe race. The State Chancellery NRW and various sponsors provided generous support for the event's implementation.
Popular stops for guests included the Expo on the market square, the 'kinder joy of moving' actions, and the beer garden at Goethestraße. Approximately 15,000 people were counted on the market square alone on Friday.
Mayor Ralf Paul Bittner expressed his delight about Arnsberg's participation in the Germany Tour, stating that he is pleased with the city's efforts and the successful outcome of the event.
The city of Arnsberg would like to once again extend its sincere thanks to all the volunteers for their invaluable assistance in making the Lidl Germany Tour a memorable success.
