TSV 05's New Clubhouse: A Milestone in Wuppertal Football
In the heart of Wuppertal, Germany, construction on TSV 05's new clubhouse is nearing completion. The project, which began in August 2024, is set to revolutionise the club's facilities and strengthen its position in the local football scene.
The clubhouse, being built directly at the playing field, will feature an observation platform just a few meters from the sideline. This gallery, equipped with glass doors that can be slid together and a roof providing protection from rain, will serve as a viewing platform for spectators during matches.
TSV 05, with approximately 500 members, boasts a diverse range of football teams. The club has 14 youth and two senior teams, as well as two veterans' teams. The C youth team currently competes in the Niederrheinliga, while the A and B youth teams are in the Bergische performance class.
The official groundbreaking ceremony for the clubhouse took place last year, and the initial estimated costs were around 1.2 to 1.4 million euros. The state of NRW contributes 470,000 euros, the city of Wuppertal 150,000 euros, and the club takes out a loan of 250,000 euros for the project. Additional funding comes from own performances, donations, and rental income from a new Telekom antenna on the scoreboard area, generating 30 years of income within a contract.
However, during the initial inspections, the building site was classified as a "bomb suspicion area" due to concreted trash cans resembling stick bombs in images. Three such trash cans were found to have been concreted in during the investigations.
Despite this setback, the project is progressing well. Orders for the windows and doors of the clubhouse will be placed soon and installed within six to eight weeks. The shell construction of the clubhouse is almost complete, and the estimated costs for the clubhouse have been revised to 1.3 million euros.
The chairman of TSV 05 is proud of the club's achievements, as Ronsdorf is the second address in Wuppertal after the WSV. He hopes for an inauguration of the new clubhouse for the 2026/27 season.
During the Waldfest weekend, the Kreisliga derby between Ronsdorf and Cronenberger SC will take place. The CSC lost both opening matches, and the chairman hopes for a home win during the Waldfest weekend. A potential advantage could be the team's unity.
The old clubhouse will continue to be used, but the new one will be the hub of club life. The Waldfest with numerous youth tournaments has been ongoing since Friday evening, 29 August, and the excitement around the new clubhouse is palpable.
Despite numerous attempts, no search results could be found providing information about who else financed the new clubhouse of TSV 05 besides the contributions from the state of NRW and the city of Wuppertal. Nevertheless, the progress made so far is a testament to the club's determination and the community's support.
