Exercises Held Nationwide in India to Assess Covid-19 Preparedness: Key Highlights
Karnataka has taken proactive steps to ensure public safety, mandating the use of masks in theaters and schools starting from Monday. Additionally, two doses of Covid vaccination are now compulsory at bars, restaurants, and clubs operating until 1 am in the state, effective from January 1.
Elsewhere in India, a nationwide mock drill is scheduled for today to assess the preparedness of healthcare facilities to handle a potential surge in COVID-19 cases. Union Wellness Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will oversee the drill at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital, and the Health and Wellness Ministers of all states will participate. The drills will focus on various parameters, including the availability of hospitals, capacity of isolation beds, oxygen-supported beds, ICU beds, and ventilator-supported beds.
