Exhibition Specialist Rebrands as Montgomery Group Africa
Montgomery Group Africa Announces Name Change and Expansion
After a strategic move to streamline operations and support long-term growth, Specialised Exhibitions has rebranded as Montgomery Group Africa. This change reflects the consolidation of Montgomery Group's regional divisions across Africa under one unified management structure.
The name change took effect from 1st September 2025. Gary Corin, Managing Director for South Africa, has taken on the additional role of Managing Director for West Africa events, while Angela Kinyua continues to lead as Managing Director of the East African events.
Montgomery Group, the UK's longest-running independent events organiser, celebrating 130 years in 2025, has been organising events across Africa since launching Specialised Exhibitions in South Africa in 1968. The organisation's African presence has expanded to include events in Botswana, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Zambia, Libya, and Zimbabwe.
The registered business entities in each region - including South, East, and West Africa - remain unchanged, and all current invoicing and banking details will continue as usual. The day-to-day operations will not be impacted by the name change.
The marketing team is overseeing all marketing communications and collateral development, working closely with the East and West African marketing teams. The locally based marketing team is leading the rollout of the Montgomery Group Africa brand across Africa. The transition aims to build a stronger, more connected presence across all regions in Africa.
Securexpo and its co-locates will be hosted annually in Johannesburg, and will launch for the first time in Cape Town in October this year. These events will complement a growing Montgomery Group Africa portfolio, including Securex Expo, A-OSH Expo, Facilities Management Expo, and Fire Expo.
The packaging, plastics, print, food processing, and labelling exhibitions in Africa - Propak Africa, Propak Cape, Propak West Africa, and Propak East Africa - will now lead as the largest under Montgomery Group Africa.
The move to Montgomery Group Africa is expected to enhance collaboration, improve resource allocation, and enable faster decision-making. The global team of Montgomery Group consists of over 150 passionate events professionals, committed to delivering high-quality events across the continent.
This rebranding marks an exciting new chapter for Montgomery Group Africa, as it continues to grow and evolve in the African events industry.
