Expanded Finances for Climate Advisory Services
In Baden-Württemberg, businesses can now access subsidized climate consultations to help them navigate the challenges of climate change and protect the environment. This initiative, funded by the European Union, federal government, and the state of Baden-Württemberg, is aimed at improving the rural areas of the region.
The consultations, known as the "Module for Climate Protection and Climate Change Adaptation," are available at nine approved consulting organizations. The contact details, names of consultants, hourly fee rates, and further information on "Consulting for the Future of the Countryside" for these organizations are published online.
These consultations focus on creating a climate balance for businesses, which involves reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy efficiency, and implementing sustainable practices. The consultants also provide advice on short-, medium-, and long-term adaptation options for animal and plant production in response to climate change. Additionally, they develop adaptation strategies for potential extreme weather events.
The consultations record the business's initial situation and develop operational-specific measures for climate protection. Soil conservation and sustainable carbon binding play a central role in these consultations.
As part of this initiative, the funding rate for climate consulting will be increased from 85% to 95% of net costs for consulting contracts concluded on or after September 1, 2025.
The consultations are financed under the Development of Rural Areas (ELER) and the Joint Task for Improving Agricultural Structure and Coastal Protection. For more information, the Ministry of Food, Rural Affairs and Consumer Protection can be contacted via their Press Office or Citizen's Representative.
It's important to note that the specific details of these subsidized climate consultations may vary based on the program or institution offering them. However, the goal remains the same: to help businesses in Baden-Württemberg adapt to climate change and protect the environment for a sustainable future.
