Delta Air Lines Expands Flight Network to Louisville for the 2026 Kentucky Derby

Delta Air Lines is set to increase its presence in Louisville, Kentucky, with its largest-ever flight network to the city, in anticipation of the 2026 Kentucky Derby. The event, hosted at Churchill Downs, saw over 150,000 attendees in 2025.

The expanded network will offer over 60 flights to and from Louisville (SDF), up from the current schedule. Delta will add over 3,000 seats to cater to the expected influx of visitors.

On peak travel days, Delta will offer 13x daily return trips from Louisville to Atlanta (ATL). The airline will also launch new, non-stop service from Austin (AUS) and Raleigh-Durham (RDU) to Louisville.

In addition to Atlanta, Delta will fly to Chattanooga and Orlando, as well as Boston, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Raleigh, and Austin. Delta will operate 4 daily flights to Louisville from Minneapolis (MSP) and Detroit (DTW), upgauging to larger aircraft.

Delta will fly once daily on a mainline Airbus A220-100 to Louisville from New York (JFK). The airline will also offer 5x daily flights from New York (LGA) and 2 daily flights from Boston (BOS) on both April 30 and May 3. Delta will offer daily flights to Louisville from Los Angeles (LAX) and New York (JFK) on the same dates.

Round-trip cash flights from Atlanta to Louisville for the Kentucky Derby start at $320. Award tickets for the Kentucky Derby route on Delta SkyMiles start around 27,000 miles round-trip.
