Expansion of Procilon into Austria Announced
Procilon Group, a leading provider of digital signature solutions and secure online identification software, has announced the acquisition of Austrian POS Solutions GmbH. The acquisition, which took place in 2024, is expected to significantly broaden Procilon's product portfolio and expand its market position in the DACH region.
Based in Braunau, Austria, POS Solutions GmbH offers digital signature solutions and provides software for secure online identification. The company, which also has a branch in Switzerland, caters to financial service providers, telecommunications companies, and industrial enterprises throughout the DACH region.
The acquisition was welcomed by POS Solutions GmbH's CEOs, Bernt Vossebein and Markus Mayrhofer, who expressed their belief that the move will benefit their Austrian customers. Bernt Vossebein commented, "We are thrilled to be joining the Procilon Group. This acquisition will provide our customers with access to a wider range of services and technologies, enhancing their digital security and identification solutions."
The acquisition has also attracted new financial investors to Procilon Group. Main Capital Partners, a Dutch private equity firm, has become a new financial investor in the company.
With the addition of POS Solutions GmbH, the number of employees at Procilon Group is expected to exceed 100. The enlarged Procilon Group's service range could now be attractive to new customers, including public institutions and operators of critical infrastructures, which are among Procilon's preferred customers.
In addition to the acquisition, Procilon Group has also been expanding its presence geographically. In July 2025, the company moved to the city center of Leipzig, Germany. Furthermore, in August 2025, Ploon IT Group expanded into Switzerland, and Citadelle acquired a Hessian system house.
The acquisition of POS Solutions GmbH is a strategic move for Procilon Group, as it strengthens its position in the secure identity verification market in the DACH region. With the addition of POS Solutions GmbH's expertise and customer base, Procilon is well-positioned to capitalize on new cross-selling opportunities and continue its growth trajectory.
The new CEO of Procilon Group, appointed in July 2024, is Dirk Czepluch. Under his leadership, Procilon Group is poised to continue its growth and expansion in the digital security and identification market.
