In a breathtaking display of royal memorabilia and high-end fashion, the much-anticipated Princess Diana's Style & A Royal Collection auction took place in Beverly Hills, CA on June 26, 2023. Hosted by Sotheby's, the event saw a series of remarkable sales, with several items fetching impressive sums.

The star of the show was undoubtedly the Bellville Sassoon flower-crowned daywear, worn multiple times by Princess Diana. This iconic piece sold for an astounding $508,000. Another standout item was the Bellville Sassoon floral day dress, also worn by the late Princess, which fetched $508,000.

In the realm of luxury fashion, a 1995 Lady Dior lambskin handbag and a 1997 British Lung Foundation sweatshirt, both belonging to Princess Diana, sold for $325,000 and $215,900 respectively. The fashion house Tiffany & Co. also saw success, with one of their bracelets selling for $285,000.

The auction was not just about fashion. Several high-end jewellery pieces also found new homes. A Bulgari necklace, a Chopard diamond ring, and a Harry Winston diamond ring sold for $1,201,000, $379,250, and $264,000 respectively. A Cartier tiara and a Van Cleef & Arpels tiara were also hot commodities, selling for $623,500 and $1,192,500.

Timepieces were another highlight of the auction. A Rolex Day-Date President watch, a Patek Philippe watch, and a Cartier watch sold for $141,000, $345,000, and $206,000 respectively. The most expensive timepiece of the day was a HEAD scarlet nylon ski suit, which sold for $317,500.

Lastly, a Christie's Blue Book illustrated by Sotheby's and an Archer style straw hat also found buyers, selling for $232,000 and $25,400 respectively.

The Princess Diana's Style & A Royal Collection auction was a resounding success, with numerous high-profile items selling for record prices. It served as a testament to the enduring appeal of Princess Diana's style and the allure of high-end fashion and jewellery.
