Exploration of artistic and traditional human expressions and practices
The Faculty of Design at the Technical University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt, the Martinus Forum, and the Education Office of the City of Aschaffenburg have joined forces to present the "Art Dementia Community 2025" exhibition. This groundbreaking event will run from September 18 to October 16 at Martinushaus, Treibgasse 26.
This project, initiated by Prof. Dr. Jens Bartholmes and Sarah Brendecke, aims to address the challenges of home care for people with dementia, support caregivers, and investigate the impact of creative engagement on the well-being of people with dementia. The artwork displayed will be created by people with dementia during a July-August art project held at the Education Office of the City of Aschaffenburg.
The exhibition is open from Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 12 PM and from Monday to Thursday from 1 PM to 4 PM. Free guided tours will take place on September 25, October 2, and October 7. The opening reception is on Wednesday, September 17, at 5 PM, with a sneak peek into a documentary film about the project shown at 6 PM on the same day. The unique aspect of this project is that it is being accompanied by a professional film team, which will create a documentary film in the coming months.
