Explore the attractions of Neuwied
Neuwied, Germany - The Neuwied Tourist Information (TI) is inviting residents and visitors alike to discover the town's rich history and unique charm with three city tours on Sunday, September 29, 20XX.
One of the tours is the Limes bike tour, starting at the Neuwied City Gallery. This tour follows the UNESCO World Heritage site of the "Upper Germanic-Raetian Limes," taking participants through Niederbieber Castle, Kleinkastell Anhausen, and Burgus in Engers. The Limes bike tour is approximately 5 hours long and requires a certain level of physical fitness. Participants are required to bring their own bicycles and wear helmets, as the route partly runs over unpaved sections. Registration for the Limes bike tour is 9 euros and must be done no later than two days before the tour date.
For families with children, the special city walk for children starts in front of Neuwied Castle at 2 pm. This tour provides information about Neuwied Castle, the dyke, the Schärjer, and more, while allowing children to ask questions and contribute their own knowledge. The children's tour visits the most important sights in the city center, and children under 6 years can participate for free, while children aged 6 to 14 pay 4 euros, and adults pay 6 euros.
Another tour offered by the Neuwied TI is the Fürstenweg round hike. This walking tour starts from the car park below the ruins of the castle in Altwied and is approximately 4 hours long. The Fürstenweg round hike costs 10 euros for adults, while children up to 14 years old pay half the fee.
The town of Deichstadt, located in Neuwied, is composed of 12 districts, each with unique characteristics and local traditions. The Museum Monrepos, located in the former Waldheim or Princesses' Palace, is a must-visit attraction in the town.
