Explore the multitude of melodies and rhythms in music
On Sunday, May 18, from 2 to 5 pm, the Municipal Music School invites everyone to experience a day filled with music at Niedermayerstraße 59. The event promises to showcase the school's extensive musical offerings, making it an ideal opportunity for families and music enthusiasts alike.
The day's programme kicks off at 2 pm with the Children's Platform, led by Miriam Dißmann. Younger students will perform on various instruments, including string, wind, plucked, keyboard, singing, and percussion. The Early Education children will captivate the audience with their rendition of "The Song of the Tripp-Trapp Mouse."
For the youngest music lovers, open sessions for Early Education/Basic Training (ages 4-6) and Music Garden (ages 1.5-4) will be held from 3 to 3:45 pm and 4 to 4:45 pm, respectively. These sessions provide an excellent opportunity for children as young as six months to start their musical journey without committing to a specific instrument.
From 3 pm onwards, visitors can explore the school building and try out instruments in the classrooms. Teachers will be available for professional advice during this exploration. The music school's café, "In Progress," will provide refreshments for guests throughout the day.
The event offers a wide range of ensembles for all ages, including bands, string orchestras, wind orchestras, big bands, folk music, and smaller chamber music groups. Young wind players can perform in the Junior Ensemble, and string players can discover the joy of ensemble playing with "PicoViolini." Children aged five and above can join the "Chor Sparrows" choir.
The school office will be open to arrange trial lessons and provide further information about classes. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced musician, this event offers something for everyone. The Municipal Music School is easily accessible by city bus lines 3 and 6.
