On Sunday, September 15, the Grafenberger Forest will come alive with the eleventh edition of "On the Trail of Nature." This annual event, dedicated to nature and environmental protection, promises a fun-filled day for families and friends.

Admission to the event is free, and a shuttle bus runs between Staufenplatz and Wildpark, making it easy for everyone to join in the festivities.

The Düsseldorf and Mettmann Hunting Association is on site with its "Rolling Forest School," offering a playful exploration of nature. Families can participate in a rally through the Wildpark, with prizes up for grabs.

Falconers from the Rhine Forest Pedagogical Institute will allow visitors to get up close and personal with owls, eagles, and falcons. The Pantao puppet theater will entertain with the "Nature Show Play," featuring stilt figures Baumgeist, Waldelf, and Birkenfee.

For the little ones, there's face painting, giant soap bubbles, a bouncy castle, and a giant caterpillar to play on. Children can also climb trees at "Monkey Tree," play and craft at "WWW - Wald Wiese Wasser," and explore the permanent exhibition of the old forest school.

Environmental organizations such as NABU NRW and BUND will be present, showcasing activities related to bird conservation and local habitat protection. The Sauerländischer Gebirgsverein will inform visitors about the "Düsseldorf Trail," a hiking trail spanning six stages over a total of 71 km around the city.

Food and drinks, including sausages, ice cream, cake, and drinks, will be available at the event. The Aquazoo Löbecke Museum, the Wildpark Friends Circle, and the Biological Station Haus Buergel will also have stands, offering information about the underwater world, their projects, and their work in the Urdenbacher Kämpe.

Last but not least, the city's forestry department will provide information on the care, protection, and preservation of the city forest. Beekeepers will explain the process of honey production, offering a sweet insight into the world of bees.
