Family vacation concludes in arrest: intoxicated father, resisting mother

In an eventful evening in Lünen, a 44-year-old man from Dortmund found himself in hot water after a series of incidents on Kurt-Schumacher-Straße. At 22:15, a VW Touran with erratic driving was stopped by local officers.

Upon investigation, officers detected a strong smell of alcohol on the man. He became aggressive, resisted arrest, and was subsequently handcuffed and placed in a patrol car. Initial investigations revealed that the man did not have a valid driver's license.

Meanwhile, the man's partner, who is 48 years old, was given a dispersal order due to her disruptive behaviour. However, she refused to comply, shouting and filming the officers. She then attempted to open the patrol car door to free her partner, leading to her arrest for resisting arrest, assaulting a law enforcement officer, and attempted escape.

The man's partner's charges also include resisting arrest, assaulting a law enforcement officer, and attempted escape. Inside the car were the man and his partner, their teenage daughter, and another couple. The other three occupants were allowed to continue their journey after the police procedures were completed.

The man was taken to the Lünen police station, where a doctor took a blood sample. The man blew too weakly into the breath test tube, resulting in a blood test being ordered. The 44-year-old man was later taken to the central police detention facility.

The search results do not provide the name of the man from Dortmund who was arrested. The police press office should be contacted for inquiries about this press release starting Monday (01.09.). It is unclear at this time what further actions will be taken against the other two occupants in the car.
