Family vacation results in arrest: Officer's report reveals father intoxicated, mother refusing orders
In an incident that unfolded on Saturday, August 30th, Dortmund police stopped a VW Touran on Kurt-Schumacher-Straße for erratic driving. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the 44-year-old man from Dortmund, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was driving under the influence, resisting arrest, and without a valid license.
The man, who had a strong smell of alcohol, became increasingly aggressive and was handcuffed and placed in the patrol car. Inside the car were the man's 48-year-old partner, their teenage daughter, and another couple. The other three passengers were allowed to continue their journey once the police procedures were complete.
The woman, the man's partner, started shouting and filming the officers, causing a disturbance. She did not comply with the dispersal order issued by the officers due to her disruptive behaviour. The woman was arrested for failing to comply with the dispersal order and resisting arrest.
The man was taken to the central police detention facility for further investigation. A blood test was ordered for the man, and a doctor took a blood sample from him at the police station.
