In the vibrant southwest Las Vegas valley, a new addition to the city's entertainment scene has made its debut: the Durango Casino & Resort. This property, under the Red Rock Resorts umbrella, opened its doors on December 5, 2023, and has already hired 55% of its workforce, with a total of 2,000 positions to be filled.

At the helm of Durango Casino & Resort is David Horn, who has an extensive history in the Las Vegas gaming industry. Starting his journey in 1994 with Station Casinos, Horn has worked his way up from valet attendant to managerial roles at various properties, including Red Rock Casino Resort. As the general manager and vice president of Durango Casino & Resort, Horn is committed to delivering an exceptional guest experience.

The Durango Casino & Resort's sportsbook is provided by FanDuel, a leading name in the sports betting industry. FanDuel, which also offers branding and betting odds for the sportsbook at the Fremont Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, has not yet activated and used its technology provision license in Nevada.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has recommended approval for FanDuel's Chief Financial Officer, David Jennings, who hails from Ireland. Jennings, who took on the role in March 2022, oversees finance functions across FanDuel's divisions, including Sportsbook, Casino, and Racing, as well as corporate operations. The Nevada Gaming Commission is set to review Jennings' licensing application in two weeks.

The recent arrival of Durango Casino & Resort has added to the competitive landscape of the Las Vegas gaming industry. With its opening, the resort has received an overwhelming response, having received 25,000 job applications ahead of its opening. As the resort continues to grow and develop, it promises to bring excitement and employment opportunities to the city.

However, as of now, there are no clear indications of FanDuel's future plans for Nevada following the licensing of its CFO, David Jennings, by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
