Fans left in tears following Coldplay's shocking statement
In an unexpected turn of events, Coldplay's highly anticipated Music of the Spheres World Tour has faced a setback. The band has been forced to reschedule the final two London dates of their tour, originally scheduled for the 7th and 8th of September, due to a planned industrial action on London's underground services.
The rescheduling has left some fans disappointed and heartbroken, as they have already booked flights and hotels for the affected dates. One fan lamented having to cancel their mother's long-awaited chance to see Coldplay, expressing their frustration over the potential loss of money.
The Wembley Stadium event organisers announced the new dates for the rescheduled shows, which will now take place on the 6th of September for the 7th September show and the 12th of September for the 8th September show. All tickets for the rescheduled dates will remain valid for entry, and fans do not need to take any action to secure their ticket for the rescheduled show.
Coldplay and Chris Martin have apologised for the inconvenience caused to their fans. In a statement, they offered a full refund for ticket holders unable to attend the rescheduled London shows. The deadline for requesting a refund is 12noon BST on Tuesday 2nd September.
The rescheduling is due to the impact of the planned industrial action on transport availability and licensing requirements. Without a Tube service, it's impossible to get 82,000 people to the concert and home again safely, and therefore no event license can be granted for the nights of the 7th and 8th of September.
Despite the rescheduling, Coldplay will still play 10 nights at Wembley Stadium, breaking the joint record set by Take That and Taylor Swift of performing eight shows at Wembley Stadium in the same year. The shows on Saturday 30th August, Sunday 31st August, Wednesday 3rd September, and Thursday 4th September will go ahead as scheduled.
The Music of the Spheres tour has already been declared the most-attended concert tour in history by Guinness World Records. The band's announcement of the rescheduling was made on their official social media account.
One fan expressed anger over the refund not covering travel, hotel, and train expenses. However, the statement did not specify whether these costs would be covered, focusing primarily on the ticket refund.
As the rescheduled dates approach, fans are encouraged to keep an eye on Coldplay's official social media accounts for any further updates. The rescheduling was a difficult decision, but the safety and wellbeing of the fans remain the top priority for Coldplay and the event organisers.
