Federal authorities at the Reitzenhain border crossing execute multiple warranted arrests, as per C commission directives

On August 15, 2025, the border crossing in Reitzenhain was a bustling scene of law enforcement activity. Three individuals, hailing from Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania, presented themselves for entry control, but their journeys were halted due to outstanding arrest warrants.

First, a 27-year-old Polish citizen arrived at 3:50 PM. A search revealed an arrest warrant for residential burglary issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Bielefeld. The Pole was taken to the detention facility in Dresden.

At 8:45 AM, a Bulgarian and a Romanian arrived separately. The Bulgarian was stopped by officers of the Federal Police Inspectorate Chemnitz, who found an arrest warrant for fraud, issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Regensburg, outstanding against the 31-year-old man.

The Romanian, aged 36, also had an arrest warrant against him. Issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Hof, this warrant was for a violation of the Weapons Act. A fine of 600,000 EUR was outstanding against the Romanian, according to the warrant.

In a twist of events, a friend stepped forward to pay the required fines for both the 24-year-old Romanian (600,000 EUR in Kiel) and the 36-year-old Romanian (over 3,700 euros in Augsburg). This act allowed both individuals to continue their journeys.

However, the 24-year-old Romanian's violation of the Weapons Act is the reason for the arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Weiden. This same office also issued a separate arrest warrant for a violation of the Weapons Act against the 24-year-old Romanian.

These incidents highlight the vigilance of German border control in ensuring that individuals with outstanding arrest warrants are not able to evade justice by crossing international borders.
