Federal police execute multiple warrants at major railway stations Essen and Dortmund, as reported by BPOL NRW
In a series of operations carried out over the weekend, the Federal Police Directorate based in Sankt Augustin, Germany, successfully apprehended several individuals wanted on various charges.
On September 5th, the Federal Police identified a 39-year-old man at Dortmund Central Station, and a 53-year-old woman at Essen-Altenessen train stop. The man was found to have an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Essen, while the woman had a warrant issued by Essen District Court for benefit fraud, for which she was sentenced to four months in prison in 2019.
Later that day, at approximately 7:00 PM, the Federal Police identified a 43-year-old man at Essen Central Station. This individual had two arrest warrants issued against him, one by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Dortmund and the other by Dortmund District Court. The first warrant, issued in 2022, sentenced him to one year in prison for negligent money laundering, and the second, issued in 2017, sentenced him to one year and six months for bodily harm by Dortmund District Court.
Upon discovering the warrants during checks at train stations, the Federal Police took the man into custody at the scene. After the man made several phone calls, his boss's mother appeared and paid the fine, allowing him to leave the station. The man was taken into further custody and taken to the station for processing. His identity was confirmed using a fingerprint scan.
The man was later taken to the station for further processing, where his identity was confirmed using a fingerprint scan. The current head of the Bundespolizeidirektion Sankt Augustin is not explicitly named in the available search results. However, Manuel Ostermann, a high-ranking officer associated with the Bundespolizeidirektion Sankt Augustin, serves in the Mobile Control and Surveillance Unit at the Essen location.
In a separate incident, Mettmann District Court sentenced the same man to a fine of 1,000.00 euros, or 100 days in prison, in 2021.
