Federal Police Successfully Secure Munich for 60th Security Conference

The Federal Police have successfully ensured a smooth and incident-free operation during the 60th Munich Security Conference (MSC 2024), which took place from February 17-18.

Over 200 personnel, including regular staff and officers, were involved in the operation. The Bundespolizeiinspektion Munich, led by Chief Police Director Steffen Quaas, played a crucial role in the security measures.

The operation was carried out without any police incidents causing disturbances in the area of the train installations, trains, and S-Bahns, as well as stations and stops. From Friday to Saturday, a total of 92 identity checks were conducted, with only one search, in specific train stations and the S-Bahn trunk line.

Chief Police Director Quaas expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation and preparation of the operation, thanking the personnel for their contributions to the success in Munich. The police director of the Federal Police Inspection Munich, Wolfgang Hauner, who is responsible for police safety and law enforcement in the area of the German railway facilities and the largest German S-Bahn network, also praised the team's efforts.

The Bundespolizeiinspektion Munich's area of responsibility covers the state capital and the Munich district, as well as the neighboring districts of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Dachau, Ebersberg, Erding, Freising, Fürstenfeldbruck, Landsberg am Lech, and Starnberg. The inspektion also has offices in Pasing and Freising, with the police station in Munich Central Station located next to track 26.
