FID introduces FIDO solutions to ensure passwordless compliance with BSP regulations.

In response to the surge in IT security fraud and online scams in the Philippines, global secure identity solutions provider HID has unveiled a new line of FIDO-certified products for passwordless authentication.

Sean Dyon, Vice President & Head of the Authentication Business Unit at HID, emphasized that passwordless authentication is now a regulatory requirement in the Philippines, as per the updated regulations by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). The Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act (AFASA) requires financial institutions in the Philippines to implement stronger, phishing-resistant authentication methods by 25 June 2026.

HID's new offerings include a subscription-based solution called Enterprise Passkey Management (EPM), designed to help organizations deploy and manage passkeys at an enterprise scale. EPM allows for remote provisioning and full lifecycle management of FIDO credentials.

The updated hardware portfolio from HID is intended to help organizations in the Philippines comply with the requirements of the AFASA. It includes a contactless FIDO reader for workstations, redesigned Crescendo Keys and Crescendo Cards, and new FIDO-certified products for passwordless authentication.

The new FIDO-certified credentials from HID are designed to help organizations adopt passwordless authentication. The Crescendo Cards, for instance, can provide both physical access to facilities and passwordless digital authentication in a single credential.

HID's next-generation FIDO portfolio is designed to give Philippine enterprises the hardware diversity and centralized management capabilities needed to deploy and manage passkeys at scale.

IT security fraud and online scams in the Philippines have surged by 35% over the last two years. With these new offerings, HID aims to help organizations address this issue and ensure compliance with the AFASA regulations.
