Final day on the job for firefighter Bernd Roth

After eight years of dedicated service, Commander Bernd Roth, the Fire Commander and Head of the Fire Department in Konstanz, is retiring. The news was announced by the Fire Department Konstanz via their official news aktuell.

Under Roth's leadership, numerous projects were successfully implemented, including the modernization of equipment, vehicles, and buildings. He also strengthened training and further education for firefighters and staff, making significant progress in the field of digitization.

At a joint breakfast, Administrative Director Joachim Helff thanked Roth for his great commitment on behalf of the City of Konstanz. Numerous personal words and speeches highlighted Roth's value as a superior and as a person within the Fire Department Konstanz. Mayor Uli Burchardt also expressed his personal thanks to Roth.

On his last day of work, June 30, 2025, Roth was picked up at home by a fire engine and welcomed at the main fire station with an honor guard. His office door was always open for all to approach with concerns during his tenure.

Commander Roth leaves behind a future-oriented and high-performing fire department that is well-prepared for upcoming tasks. With his retirement, he can now plan his future schedule according to his own interests.
