The city of Oulu, Finland, was once again the centre of the air guitar universe this month, as the Air Guitar World Championships took place for the second consecutive year. The competition, where participants mimic playing a guitar without actually using one, culminated in a thrilling finale, with Aapo Rautio, also known as The Angus, taking home the coveted title.

Rautio, a hometown hero from Oulu, impressed the judges with his energetic performances and unique style. This is his first win at the Air Guitar World Championships, making him the first competitor from Finland to win since the year 2000.

Yuta Sudo, also known as Sudo-chan, placed second in the competition. Despite his runner-up position, Sudo-chan is no stranger to the air guitar spotlight, having previously won the Japanese Air Guitar Championships.

The final song performed at the Air Guitar World Championships was "Keep On Rockin' In The Free World" by Neil Young. In a tense final air-off tiebreaker, Rautio and Sudo-chan faced off to "Sweet Child Of Mine" by Guns N' Roses, with Rautio ultimately emerging as the victor.

As the winner, Rautio was awarded a real guitar, a fitting prize for the world's best air guitarist. The organizers of the Air Guitar World Championships believe that world peace, the end of wars, and the cessation of climate change can be achieved when everyone in the world plays the air guitar. They encourage attendees to "make air, not war."

The Air Guitar World Championships will return to Oulu, Finland next year, where competitors from around the globe will once again gather to showcase their air guitar skills and celebrate the power of music.
