Fire Breaks Out at Furniture Shop Workplace
In the early hours of this morning, the Dortmund Fire Department was called to a fire at the Roller company premises in Dortmund. The fire started at around 1:33 AM, and upon arrival, flames were already shooting out of the front window of an old workshop.
A team in breathing apparatus entered the building to fight the fire, while approximately 25 personnel from Fire Station 3 (Asseln), Fire Station 4 (Hörde), the 11th fire truck (Sölde), and the rescue service were involved in the operation. The other doors were forced open with a hydraulic spreader to check the remaining rooms for fire spread.
Inside, wooden pallets, tools, and debris were burning. The fire was contained to the room of origin, and for follow-up operations, the debris was removed from the workshop and checked for hotspots. The turntable ladder with the basket was positioned above the object to monitor the roof using a thermal imaging camera.
The Dortmund Fire Department did not specify the exact number of personnel involved in the initial firefighting efforts, and the fire department did not mention if there were any injuries or casualties during the fire. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, with the criminal police also investigating the incident.
