On August 30, 2025, the Dresden Fire Department was kept busy responding to several incidents across the city.

The day started with a fire at a recycling company located on Maxener Straße in Lockwitz. The fire department, including teams from Übigau and Altstadt fire and rescue stations, Leuben rescue station, the B-Service, and the district fire departments Lockwitz and Niedersedlitz, were called out between 1:59 PM and 4:28 PM. Upon arrival, no smoke or fire was initially visible, but a caller reported seeing smoke on the building's rear side. A check on the rear side gave the all-clear - no smoke was detectable. Approximately 20 square meters of waste were burning on a pile about three meters high. Medical measures were initiated, and a doctor was requested. The injured driver was taken to a hospital by ambulance. After the fire was extinguished, the scene was handed over to the police for investigation. Follow-up checks were agreed for the evening and the following morning.

Later in the day, the fire department was called to a beeping smoke alarm in a high-rise building on Holbeinstraße, Johannstadt. Deployment forces found smoke from burnt food in the affected apartment and an unconscious person. The fire department used heavy foam to extinguish the flames and set up a stable water supply. The rescue helicopter Christoph 38 was requested five times. The unconscious person was transported to a hospital by the rescue service.

In the evening, the Dresden Fire Department was alerted to a burning car on Kirchenweg, Mobschatz, at 10:53 PM. The fire was quickly extinguished, and no injuries were reported.

Overall, the emergency services in Dresden were alerted a total of 221 times on August 30, 2025. In addition to the fires and incidents mentioned above, the services required a doctor in 74 cases, provided technical assistance in 16 cases, and dealt with four false alarms triggered by automatic fire alarm systems. After the busy day, the Dresden Fire Department continued to ensure the safety and well-being of the city's residents, ready to respond to any future incidents.
