Fire erupts at homeless and asylum shelter in Bøblingen, attended by Polish authorities

On Tuesday, 12th August 2025, a fire was reported at a homeless shelter and asylum accommodation located on Schönaicher Straße, Böblingen, at around 5:10 PM. The fire department was able to swiftly extinguish the blaze.

According to initial investigations, the fire was allegedly started by a 28-year-old resident who set fire to a pile of packaging waste in their room. Upon returning to the accommodation at around 9:00 PM, the 28-year-old was found in the kitchen with all stove burners allegedly turned on.

A 29-year-old resident suffered minor smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital by the emergency services. The nature of the 29-year-old's hospitalization due to smoke inhalation remains unspecified in the article.

The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The estimated damage caused by the fire is approximately €1,000.
