In the quiet night of August 26-27, the Dormagen Fire Department found themselves responding to multiple fire incidents, keeping their team of firefighters on their toes.

The first incident occurred at around 11:30 PM on "Am Stellwerk" in Horrem, where a vehicle fire broke out. The full-time station and the Mitte fire brigade swiftly responded and managed to bring the blaze under control.

Just 18 minutes later, another vehicle fire was reported near Zonser Street in Büren. This time, it was the upper floor of an apartment in Hackenbroich that was affected. Despite the potential danger, no one was injured, and emergency services were able to extinguish the flames before they could spread to the business premises and the apartment above.

The night was not over yet. At 12:36 AM, trolleys and containers on the outer facade of a business building in Hackenbroich caught fire. Once again, the Dormagen Fire Department sprang into action, this time with the assistance of four additional fire departments - Hackenbroich, Delhoven, Straberg, and Mitte.

Despite the challenges posed by these simultaneous incidents, the team worked tirelessly, ensuring that each fire was brought under control. The final measures were completed, and the watch was stood down at around 1:40 AM.

Throughout the night, a total of around 30 firefighters were on duty across all departments, demonstrating their dedication and professionalism in the face of adversity.

The Dormagen Fire Department's quick response and effective action undoubtedly saved property and potentially lives on that fateful night. Their unwavering commitment to the safety of their community is truly commendable.
