Befit Expands Its Footprint in Romania with Acquisition of Barzz Clubs

Befit, an affordable and tech-driven fitness chain, has announced its latest expansion move. On August 25, the fitness brand, owned by Vectr Holdings, announced the acquisition of four Barzz clubs in Romania. This move brings Befit's total number of clubs to six.

The acquisition includes two Barzz clubs in Sibiu and two in Deva. As part of the transition, members will gain access to Befit's digital ecosystem, offering a modernized facilities and high-tech training environment.

Milan Mirkovic, General Manager of Befit, stated that the acquisition matches their expansion strategy. He further added that Barzz clubs align well with Befit's mission to target young urban communities in Romania's residential neighborhoods.

Renovation works will mainly take place at night to avoid disruptions for members. The renovated gyms will incorporate advanced automation based on the KNX global standard, allowing centralized control over lighting, climate, water, humidity, ventilation, music, and energy consumption. Some of Befit's locations will be partially powered by photovoltaic panels.

The takeover also marks the entry of Dragoș Drăghici and Andrei Drăghici, the entrepreneurs who will become part of the management team through the acquisition of the Barzz clubs in Sibiu and Deva by Befit.

The demand for Befit's fitness concept was underscored by the trial results, where over 70% of participants expressed interest in continuing with paid memberships after a free one-month trial. Memberships for the renovated gyms will start at RON 150 per month.

Vectr Holdings, Befit's parent company, also owns World Class Romania, the country's leading fitness chain. The company plans to reach 20 clubs by the end of 2025.

Befit is positioned as an affordable, tech-driven fitness chain, offering a unique experience to its members. With its latest acquisition, Befit continues to expand its presence in Romania, providing more opportunities for fitness enthusiasts to enjoy its high-tech training environment.
