Five-vehicle collision leads to multiple injuries and a one-hour traffic standstill as a vehicle overturns, causing a lockdown.

On Wednesday evening, a significant traffic accident occurred on Autobahn 3 between the Hanau and Seligenstadt interchanges. The incident involved five vehicles: an E-class, a G-class, a BMW, a VW, and a C-class.

According to the South East Hesse Police Headquarters, the G-class overturned and slid across the carriageway, causing extensive damage. Debris from the accident also damaged the VW and the following C-class. A large piece of concrete broke off and was thrown several meters away during the impact against the central reservation.

The E-class, allegedly performing an illegal overtaking maneuver, is believed to have caused the accident. As a result, the 32-year-old driver of the E-class is now being investigated for endangering road traffic.
