Flag ablaze with Israeli symbols
In the early hours of this morning, an incident occurred on Tiergartenstraße that has raised concerns. Unknown individuals set fire to an Israeli state flag, which was attached to the facade of a building belonging to a political foundation.
The security guard, who was on duty, noticed the damage during his current patrol around 5:30 AM. Upon investigation, he discovered that the flag, which was previously intact during his night patrol, had been set ablaze between his previous and current patrols.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, but the State Protection Police of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office has taken over the investigation. They suspect that this act may be politically motivated, possibly linked to the left-extremist spectrum.
The political foundation's building where the flag was set on fire is also under investigation by the State Protection Police. The specific nature or identity of the individuals responsible for setting the flag on fire has not been disclosed.
The incident took place near the political foundation's building, adding to the gravity of the situation. The Israeli flag, which was found damaged due to the fire, was previously attached to the facade of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, a well-known political foundation.
The police are urging anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward. As the investigation continues, the community is reminded to stand united against acts of hate and intolerance.
