Flights departing from Sochi Airport face a delay of 34

Sochi Airport, a major hub for travel in Russia, has experienced a series of disruptions over the past few days.

On August 30, the airport temporarily suspended the acceptance and departure of aircraft due to a drone threat, causing a ripple effect in the flight schedules. As a result, 15 flights were delayed for departure, and an additional 19 flights were delayed for arrival at the resort's airport.

The destinations affected by the delayed departure flights include Antalya, Yerevan, Novosibirsk, Moscow, Orenburg, Batumi, Yekaterinburg, and Istanbul. For the delayed arrival flights, the origin cities include Tbilisi, Novosibirsk, Moscow, Yerevan, Orenburg, Antalya, Ufa, Perm, Noyabrsk, Batumi, Syktyvkar, and Surgut.

Despite efforts to resume normal operations, the exact times for the resumption of flights at Sochi Airport after the temporary closure have not been officially announced. It is expected that there may be rescheduled, canceled, or combined flights in the next two days following the suspension at Sochi Airport.

Travellers are advised to check the status of their flights with their respective airlines and plan accordingly. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.

This incident serves as a reminder of the potential disruptions that can occur in air travel, underscoring the importance of flexibility and preparedness for travellers. We hope for a swift resolution to this situation and a return to normal operations at Sochi Airport in the near future.
