Florida residence of Styx bassist Chuck Panozzo up for sale priced at $1.75 million
Styx Co-Founder Sells Asian-Inspired Florida Home
Rock legend and Styx co-founder Chuck Panozzo has listed his resort-style home in Wilton Manors, Florida, for sale. Known as "La Serenidad," the property is a short walk from popular Wiltern Drive and near Fort Lauderdale.
Built in 1952, the 1,608 square feet home showcases mid-century modern design, featuring quality woodwork and coral accents. The home, filled with a tropical Zen ambiance, includes a swimming pool, koi ponds, Buddhas, topiaries, and several sculptures, transforming it into a private tropical oasis.
Panozzo, who co-founded Styx with his late twin brother John Panazzo and singer and keyboardist Dennis DeYoung in 1972, bought the home in 2007 for $305,000. The buyer before its sale in 2021 remains undisclosed.
La Serenidad offers multiple fountains, several gazebos, and a large office that could double as a third bedroom, according to Sotheby's. The home is listed by ONE Sotheby's International Realty.
Styx, known for their chart-topping songs such as "Mr. Roboto," "Babe," "Come Sail Away," and "Show Me the Way," has sold over 54 million records worldwide. The band released their 18th studio album, "Circling From Above," in July, and are currently on tour through January.
Of the founding members, only Panozzo and James Young remain. They perform alongside Tommy Shaw, Todd Sucherman, Lawrence Gowan, Will Evankovich, and Terry Gowan.
Panozzo has described the home as a place that made him feel "safe." Despite the sale, fans can still catch him on tour with Styx, as he continues to bring his unique sound and energy to audiences around the world.
