The "Young help and care" congress took place on May 28, 2025, at the education center of the Saarland Chamber of Labor, with approximately 180 participants attending. The event focused on discussions about professional identity, perspectives, and development in the health and care sector.

Beatrice Zeiger, CEO of the Chamber of Labor, expressed pride in the active participation of many young care professionals. She stated that the goal of the congress was to address important aspects often overlooked in the stressful daily care routine, looking beyond the immediate concerns of care professionals.

The Minister for Health, Nina Warken, and other representatives of the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Women and Health, were also in attendance. Zeiger stated that the active participation of young care professionals gives hope for the future of care and shows its importance.

The program of the congress was influenced by an online survey conducted among young care professionals before the event. The day was filled with practical workshops on various topics, including health maintenance in care, further training and job profiles, violence prevention in daily care, team communication, representation of interests in care, dealing with dementia, and interprofessional training with medical students.

The Chamber of Labor emphasized that it would continue to work towards a future where care has a promising outlook. Zeiger stated that the chamber plans to continue advocating for the interests of caregivers through political consultation, its own educational offerings, and events like this congress.

The "Young help and care" congress aimed to provide a platform for young care professionals to voice their concerns and share their perspectives, fostering a sense of community and unity within the sector. The event marked a significant step towards ensuring a bright future for the health and care sector, with the active involvement and empowerment of its young professionals.
