After a brief injury layoff, Serge Gnabry is set to make his return for Germany's upcoming World Cup qualifier against Northern Ireland. The Bayern Munich forward, who previously suffered a fracture of his left forearm two years ago in a DFB-Pokal match, has been confirmed fit by the German Football Association.

Gnabry was forced out of the national team's semi-final match against Slovakia after sustaining an injury to his left arm during the first half. He wore an arm sleeve in the second half of the game, but was ultimately substituted for Karim Adeyemi in the 66th minute.

The previous encounter between Germany and Slovakia ended in a 0:2 defeat, a result that has put pressure on coach Julian Nagelsmann to deliver a positive outcome in the upcoming match. The location for the match against Northern Ireland will be Cologne, with the final training session taking place at the Cologne stadium at 16:30 CET.

Nagelsmann is preparing the German team meticulously for the qualifier, aiming to bounce back from a disappointing start to the qualifying campaign. Maximilian Beier has been called up as a replacement for the injured Niclas Füllkrug for the match.

The match against Northern Ireland is a crucial part of the qualifying campaign for the 2026 World Cup. Fans in Germany and across the world can catch the action live on RTL, with the match scheduled to start at 20:45 CET.
