Food, Music, and Family Entertainment to Return in Old Town North on September 18th

On Thursday, September 18, from 4 to 8 p.m., the annual Taste of Old Town North will take place in Montgomery Park, located at 900 North Royal Street. This event, presented by the Old Town North Community Partnership in collaboration with the city's Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs, promises a delightful evening of local restaurant tastings, live music, family-friendly activities, and more.

Mayor Alyia Gaskins has expressed her excitement for the event, stating that it celebrates and creates a welcoming atmosphere for all who live, work, own small businesses, or come out to play in the diverse neighbourhoods of Old Town North.

Participating restaurants include Jula's on the Potomac, Hank's Oyster Bar, MacMillan Spirit and Ale House, Hank's Pasta Bar, Hotel AKA Alexandria's a.lounge+bar, and St. Elmo's Old Town North Coffee Pub.

Musical performances will be given by Hope and Nate from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by The Mod from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Vice Mayor Sarah Bagley will also be speaking at the event.

In addition to the food and music, several local nonprofits will provide information about volunteer opportunities. These include the League of Women Voters, Alive!, Housing Alexandria, Alexandria Film Festival, Alexandria Seaport Foundation, North Old Town Independent Citizens Association, and Volunteer Alexandria.

The City of Alexandria's Mobile Art Lab will offer art supplies and activities for children. The event will also feature an artisans' market, and additional support is provided by Annual Season Sponsor Hilco Redevelopment Partners and the Old Town North Alliance.
