The Ford Transit Custom Nugget is expanding its camper portfolio with the introduction of a high-roof variant, set to be available from 2025. This latest addition aims to cater to those seeking more living comfort and space.
Based on the long L2 floor plan, the high-roof Nugget offers a spacious interior accommodating four people on a 5.45m chassis. Compared to its shorter counterpart, this extended version provides an additional 40cm of exterior length, enhancing the overall living space.
One of the key features of the high-roof Nugget is its improved insulation in the roof area, making it suitable for year-round camping, even in colder climates. This winter-friendly design is a significant advantage for those who enjoy camping throughout the year.
Under the hood, the powertrains remain the same, offering the choice between the 2.0-l TDCI or the 2.5-l PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid) options.
The high-roof Nugget is suspected to be based on the version with a long wheelbase, which expands the three-room concept of the short Ford Transit Custom Nugget (2024) with a fixed bathroom. This added luxury contributes to a more comfortable camping experience.
In terms of storage, the high-roof Nugget offers simpler roof bed conversion and more storage space compared to a pop-up roof. For those seeking even more convenience, an optional fixed cassette toilet can be fitted in the rear, albeit at the cost of some storage space in the wardrobe.
Interestingly, the price of the extended Ford Transit Custom Nugget high-roof model is approximately €4,000 higher than the short wheelbase version. The price of the high-roof version starts at approximately €82,645.50, with the high roof option priced around €2,975 above the base version. This premium is justified by the added comfort and space provided by the high roof.
