Wiesbaden City Forest Celebrates Double Accolade

The Wiesbaden City Forest is basking in the glory of two prestigious awards this year. The forest has been named "Forest Area of the Year 2025" by both the German Association of Foresters and the German Forest Association (Deutscher Forstverein). This double recognition is a testament to the forest's commitment to sustainable and near-natural forestry, as it marks 25 years of FSC certification.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, an exhibition titled "Wiesbaden City Forest" is being held at the Town Hall. The exhibition showcases photographs capturing the magic of the forest, inviting visitors to explore it for themselves. The "blende 48" photographers are joining in the celebration, offering an exhibition in the forest that promises to be a mesmerising experience.

The Forest Experience Day, scheduled for August 24, 2025, at Kaiser-Friedrich-Eiche in Wiesbaden, is set to be a lively experience space for visitors of all ages. ESWE will be providing refreshments and small snacks, with a snack stand, a coffee wagon, and a drinking water station. Activities during the day include horse-drawn logging, firefighting technology demonstrations, and hands-on activities.

For those who wish to delve deeper into the forest, the Rhein-Taunus Nature Park will be on hand to provide tips on hiking and cycling trails in the surrounding area. The Forest Experience Day serves as a starting point for further nature discoveries around Wiesbaden.

To top it all off, a campfire evening with forester Tim Brunsch is scheduled for April 26. This event promises to be an unforgettable experience for the whole family, complete with campfire bread, tea, and stories about the forest. The campfire evening is open to adults and children alike.

Visitors can also look forward to wildlife tracking activities during the Forest Experience Day. The event, listed under "Events", is a perfect opportunity to immerse oneself in the beauty and tranquillity of the Wiesbaden City Forest. More news from the Mitte district can be found here.

So, whether you're a nature enthusiast, a photography lover, or simply looking for a day out, the Wiesbaden City Forest has something for everyone. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to experience one of Germany's most celebrated forests.
