In the world of Formula One, 2025 has been a year of significant growth and change. The sport has seen an influx of new partners, renewals of long-standing relationships, and a surge in popularity among fans, both old and new.

One of the most notable developments is the arrival of Aon as Ferrari's new official partner, and adidas as the apparel partner for the Audi F1 Team. These multi-year agreements, which kicked off at the Italian Grand Prix, are a testament to the sport's continued attractiveness to major brands.

Similarly, Mercedes, Sauber racing (now Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber), Haas, and McLaren have all renewed or secured new long-term partnerships. Mastercard has joined McLaren as their official naming partner, starting from 2026.

The fanbase of Formula One is showing no signs of slowing down either. A staggering 827 million people worldwide follow the sport, with a year-on-year increase of over 10%. An impressive 43% of this fanbase is under 35 years old, indicating a bright future for the sport. Moreover, 42% of fans are female, demonstrating a balanced and inclusive fanbase.

The success of the F1 Movie has undoubtedly contributed to this growth, as has the increased visibility on social media platforms. Formula One now boasts a combined following of 106 million, a significant increase from the 18 million in 2018.

The US fanbase has seen particularly strong growth, with a 52 million increase and a year-on-year growth of +11%. This expansion is a promising sign for the future of Formula One in the United States.

In terms of regulations, discussions have been held regarding a fee for investigations in commercial matters, as well as adjusting deposit fees for protests, appeals, and right of reviews. These changes, if approved, aim to ensure the long-term sustainability of the sport, a goal that has been agreed upon by all stakeholders.

The 2026 technical, sporting, and operational regulations have also been updated and shared with the teams. As with all regulatory changes, these updates are subject to approval by the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC).

In conclusion, 2025 has been a year of progress for Formula One. With new partnerships, a growing fanbase, and regulatory updates on the horizon, the sport is poised for continued success in the years to come.
